Alvie Oliveira, one of CANE Financial’s Mortgage Brokers was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at eight years old and trained on and off for about 15 years. Returning to the sport in 2011 he was graded to Blue Belt by Thiago Domingues a student of Master Ricardo De La Riva. Purple belt followed in late 2013 after many long hours of training. In October 2015 he was promoted to Brown Belt by professor Rinaldo Santos.
Alvie has competed in multiple competitions in the United States and Australia, with great results in most of them. In early March 2015 he won his first competition as a Brown Belt and in a record time of 45 seconds.
Alvie moved to Sydney in March 2016 where he continued his journey. On 26 of October 2017, he was granted his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Alvie is a firm believer in Old School traditional Jiu Jitsu as a base for any future modern champion.
